Booking emails and SMS reminders

Booker can email a confirmation and a reminder to the customer, notify you of new bookings, and text an SMS reminder using your own Twilio account. Emails are on Starter and up; SMS is on Pro.

Emails

On Starter and Pro, turn on any of three emails under Settings: a confirmation to the customer when they book, a reminder before the booking, and a new-booking notice to you. Set how many hours before the booking the reminder is sent. Each confirmation also carries an add-to-calendar file.

SMS reminders with your own Twilio

  1. Create a Twilio account. SMS uses your own Twilio account, so the messages are billed to you by Twilio. Create an account and get a phone number.
  2. Enter your Twilio details. On the Pro plan, under Settings, turn on SMS reminders and enter your Twilio Account SID, Auth Token and From number. Your token is stored encrypted and never shown again.
  3. Reminders send automatically. When a booking has a phone number and enters its reminder window, Booker texts the reminder alongside the email.

Good to know

Do I need my own Twilio account for SMS?

Yes. SMS uses your Twilio account and Twilio bills you per message. You are responsible for consent and for honouring STOP requests.

Why did a customer not get an SMS?

SMS needs a phone number on the order and SMS enabled with valid Twilio details. If the checkout did not collect a phone, no SMS is sent.
