How to take bookings on Shopify

You can take time-based bookings on your Shopify store without a separate booking system. Booker adds a live availability calendar to a product page, holds the slot when it goes in the cart, and takes payment through your normal checkout. Here is the full setup.

Step by step.

1

Install Booker

Add Booker from the Shopify App Store and open it from your admin. It runs inside your store, so there is no separate account to manage.

2

Make a product bookable

Create a product for the thing you rent, or pick an existing one, and turn on booking. Choose whether it sells by the hour, half day or full day, and set a rate for each length.

3

Add the calendar to the product page

In your theme editor, drop the Booker calendar block onto the product template. Customers then see live availability right where they buy.

4

Set your hours and rules

Set your opening hours per weekday, a lead time so bookings cannot be made last minute, and block out any dates you are closed. On the Pro plan, any product can override these with its own hours and closed dates.

5

Take a test booking

Book a slot yourself. It is held at add to cart, paid at checkout, and shows on your admin calendar, blocking that time for everyone else.

Good to know.

Do I need a separate booking app or website?

No. Booking and payment run on your existing Shopify checkout, so your orders, customers and payouts work exactly as they do now.

Can customers pay when they book?

Yes. The slot is added to the cart and paid at your normal checkout, so the booking is confirmed and paid in one step. You can take the full amount on any plan, or on the Pro plan set a deposit percentage with the balance collected manually at the booking.

Where do bookings show up?

Every booking appears on the admin calendar inside Booker, with the customer, time and revenue, and can sync to Google Calendar on the Starter and Pro plans.

Ready to take your first booking?

Install Booker, set up a product, add the calendar, and you are live.
